Dear Robby Gordon…

Dear Robby,

JustPlainRacin.com LogoI’m starting this letter in an uncommon away and that is to tell you; I’m not a real fan of yours BUT, NASCAR has gone too far!

After this weeks NASCARS incidents of fines with you and Tony Stewart, NASCAR has finally taken its toll on this race fan of many decades (notice I didn’t say NASCAR Fan)!
Who does NASCAR think they are? GOD? I am a spiritual person but, they can go to hell!
NASCAR’S rule of “not doing something detrimental to NASCAR” is clearly a bad rule! And has cost NASCAR at least one fan until they unwind some of the things they do, such as:

  1. Your suspension of this weekend in NEXTEL CUP, when according to NASCAR, the infraction was in BUSCH.
  2. NASCAR BLACK FLAGging you in the BUSCH Race (and the winner is the person that caused the yellow flag and wrecked 4 cars) and
  3. the fining of Tony Stewart for saying “shit”.

NASCAR thinks they are better than ANY of the other sports (NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB etc). They aren’t. They’re (NASCAR) bad parents not a professional organization.

Instead of working out what is wrong, they make a new rule. Isn’t that what your parents did when you were a child and your parents said you were bad? NASCAR has created this environment where everyone is afraid to do anything and that has stifled competition and invention. What they have fostered is an environment to introduce, dare I say it? Unions!

  1. Drivers need a union to protect themselves from the likes of this weeks NASCAR’s temper tantrum.
  2. Teams need a union to protect them from each years suspensions of crew chiefs at the first race of the year (another NASCAR temper tantrum), Daytona.
  3. AND finally, a Union is needed to protect those BIG budget race teams and sponsors from fines and points losses (another NASCAR temper tantrum).

Unions may not be in the near future for NASCAR but, they’re not that far off!

NASCAR has lost me as a fan because of ii ts inconsistency, favoritism and knee jerk reactions. They’re like a rich kid with too much money and time on there hands.
